Executive Director

*KIM TRAN*
Ethnicity: Vietnamese/Chinese
Kim Tran is a fourth year, Food Science – Pre-Pharmacy major at the University of Florida. She was the Logistics Director of Southeast Regional Conference of Asian American Leaders (SERCAAL) in 2009, was the former Student of Building Dreams Foundation Secretary, and the Assistant Director of VISA Talent Show (2010). She is also an active member of the Asian American Student Union and a proud sister of Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. On her free time, she likes to dance, stroll, and eat seafood. Kim Tran also wants to visit Italy in the near future. She plans to bring her dog with her, so she can fulfill her dream having “CoCo at the Beach.”

Finance Team

*JIN WANG*
Ethnicity: Chinese
Jin Wang is a junior in University of Florida majoring in Marketing. He was the former the Co-External Vice President of the Chinese American Student Association and is active in the Asian American Student Union. He also finds time to hang out with his brothers from Pi Delta Psi Fraternity, Inc. Jin Wang likes to play Final Fantasy XIII in his spare time but had to give it up just to plan SERCAAL2010. He is also fond of chickens, cows and sexy robots. His proposed theme for SERCAAL2010 before the official theme was “Many Animals, One Farm.”


*HELEN HO*
Ethnicity: Vietnamese
Helen Ho is a third year, Biology major with a double minor in Business and Chemistry. She worked at the UF Help Desk, took part in the genetics research conducted by Dr Charlie Baer, interned at Shands Hopital and is currently a Teaching Assistant for Exceptional People in the Society. She likes singing, playing the piano, cooking Viet food and meeting new people. Helen has been wearing her glasses since 2nd grade that she claims to be literally blind without them.


*JOHN SAN*
Ethnicity: Chinese
John San is a sophomore in the University of Florida taking up Food Science and Human Nutrition. He is currently the Special Events Coordinator of the Chinese American Student Association and the former AASU Co-Alumni Chair. John likes spicy cream chicken and has the passion into learning different languages and diverse cultures. He aspires to become the next top chef, although he lacks the talent of cooking. John thinks that the greatest invention today is Gmail, and believes that he would take over managing it someday to become rich.

*YANG FENG ZHANG*
Ethnicity: Chinese
Yang Feng Zhang, also known as Winnie, is a senior in the University of Florida with an East Asian Language focus. She is an active member of the Asian American Student Union all while taking part in the Finance Team of Southeast Regional Conference of Asian American Leaders 2010. She likes to play tennis, black and white photography, and gummies. Winnie has two robo hamsters named Peanut and Butter, and she plans on getting a pet jellyfish to complete the whole entourage.

Programming Team

*QUYNH-LE NGUYEN*
Ethnicity: Vietnamese
Even though it’s hard to be an English major, Quynh-Le Nguyen still manages to juggle being an active member of the Asian American Student Union, take part in the Advertising Committee of INK Magazine while being a Florida Opportunities Scholar. She was the former Director and a mentor of the Freshman Leadership Program and was the Co-Producer and Editor of “Custom Made: A Documentary About Asian Americans.” She also took part in Gatorship 2010 and loves to dedicate her free time volunteering. Quynh-Le likes to create arts with vinyl and cassette tapes, and also made it clear that she likes her food spicy, that she carries a bottle of habaņero peppers with her wherever she goes.


*KIM SABILONA*
Ethnicity: Filipino
Currently a third year student in University of Florida double majoring in Health Education and Nursing, Kim Sabilona is also active in the Asian American Student Union. In the past, she was the Internal Vice President of the Korean Undergraduate Student Association and Co-Programming Director for the Southeast Regional Conference of Asian American Leaders 2009. Kim also has an unexplainable obsession with kettle popcorn and mint chocolate. Due to fact that she is vertically challenged (she is 4’9”), she still has the perk of getting the handicap card if she decides to, which is great when you need parking in UF.


*JESSICA CONCHA*
Ethnicity: Filipino
As hard as it is not to put a phrase saying “see Kim Sabilona, her best friend” in her bio, Jessica Concha is also a junior in University of Florida double majoring in Health Education and Nursing. She was the former External Vice President of the Korean Undergraduate Student Association and is active in the Asian American Student Union. She likes to perform in cultural shows for different sub-organizations, help out as a chair and be part of committees. Jessica Concha also loves spending her free time going to movie theaters. Up to now, she still strongly believes that pigeons explode when they eat rice that she is very careful not to give any to them when she sees one.

Marketing Team

*BERNIE AMARO*
Ethnicity: Hispanic
Bernie Amaro is a fourth-year Political Science major in the University of Florida. He is active in the Korean Undergraduate Student Association and the Pi Sigma Alpha Science Honor Society. He is good at brainstorming at a time-constrained situation and believes he developed this skill by playing a lot of “Taboo.” He likes to play badminton, learning languages, and reading science fiction. He says that he is a germaphobe, which comes in handy when the SERCAAL board needs cleaning in their apartments.


*BRANDON MAGTALAS*
Ethnicity: Filipino
Brandon Magtalas is a junior in University of Florida majoring in Psychology and minoring in Marketing. He was the former Finance Director of the Southeast Regional Conference of Asian American Leaders 2009 and MCDA Ambassador. He is also active in the Asian American Student Union while being a volunteer in church youth groups. Brandon likes breakdancing, longboarding and playing basketball. Brandon likes to help people out, that he earned the nickname "Yaya Brandino," which is a Tagalog term that translates to Nanny Brandon.


*ARIENNE VALENCIA*
Ethnicity: Filipino
Arienne Valencia is a second-year Biology major in the University of Florida. She is a proud sister of the sorority, Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., and is active in the Filipino Student Association. She likes sushi, travelling, and reading manga. She also has a weird collection of stuff animals (a seal wearing a dolphin costume, and a seal in a penguin costume). Although very quiet, she can be a little random by typing “gtjfeklfwdv” when asked about a fun fact about her.


*KY DAU*
Ethnicity: Vietnamese
With a 5-letter long name, Ky Dau finds it easy to bubble in the letters during exams. She is a junior majoring in Food Science and Nutrition in the University of Florida. She likes anything that involves food: cooking food, eating food, looking at food, buying food, and even watching television with food. Ky Dau wants to file a name change to “F-o-o-d-s” in the future, which she says is a better 5-letter name in the future.

Ethnicity: Chinese
As a second year with a double major in Business Administration and Electrical Engineering, Irene Ng still manages to divide her time as the Vice President of Internal Affairs of Alpha Kappa Delta Phi Sorority, Inc., Asian American Student Union Kaleidoscope Month 2010 Director of Recording, Multicultural Greek Council Scholarship Director, Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers Vice President, and a Greek Ambassador. She likes dancing, cooking, baking, travelling, and reading. Irene also likes to try new things, and rumor has it that she wants to become an adrenaline junkie.

*LING SU*
Ethnicity: Taiwanese
Ling Su is a third year Family, Youth, and Community Science Major at the University of Florida. She is a proud sister and the vice president of Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. Currently she is an active volunteer at the Alachua County Humane Society and an ELI Conversational Partner, helping exchange students practice conversational English. In her spare time, Ling loves to eat, work out, and make web graphics. She has a huge sweet tooth with her favorites being cookies and ice cream sandwiches. Ling has always had a crazy dream to work at Sea World to swim with Shamu all day long, but plans to pursue a career in Nursing to pay the bills.
